Origin: Dublin, Ireland. My mother is French.
Places you’ve been:
Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Nederlands, the UK, Portugal, Canada and all of the autonomous communities of Spain.
My favourite hobby is hanging out with my dog, Luna. I love walking. I’ve done the Camino de Santiago three times. I really enjoy being outside. I also like some unusual sports. Ask me about them.
My favourite colour is orange, a really bright orange.
What makes you happy?
Happy for me is when the people I love and care about are happy. I feel happiest when I feel that what I am doing is helping others be their best and making a difference, even if it’s just a little one. The happiest moment of my life was when my first nephew Isaac was born.
What makes you angry:
Poverty is one of the things that make me the angriest. I find it frustrating that we still live in a world where most of us live in despicable poverty. Judgmental opinions, close-mindedness and uncompassionate actions also make me pretty angry.
What are your best and worst traits?
? Worst traits: Sometimes I’m not as brave as I would like to be. I can also be a bit of a perfectionist. (Totally perfectionist). Best traits: Open, friendly, patient and hopefully always willing to help. I also like to think that I’m positive, motivated and motivating.
Something unknown about you:
I speak quite a few different languages. 🙂
About your career
Why did you start teaching?
I started teaching because I felt called to it. Teaching for me is definitely a vocation.
What do you like most about teaching?
I like that I learn just as much as my students but about different things. They learn English and they teach me humility, perseverance, strength, bravery and how to be a better person.
Do you have any anecdotes about your classes?
Every day something magical happens. Sometimes it’s just funny, other times it’s moving and sometimes it’s life changing.
If you weren’t a teacher, what would you like to do for a living?
What would you do if you had a time machine?
I would go back to when my Grandmother was my age, and I would be her best friend for the next fifty years. It would also be kind of cool because I would get to meet my mother as a baby.
If you could have a super power, what would you choose and why?
I would like to be able to time travel so that I would relive beautiful moments again and again. Or maybe teleportation so that I could visit loved ones any where on the globe.
If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go and why?
I have always wanted to go to Mexico. I would love to stand in the same place that at some point stood a Mayan princess or warrior.
If you could meet anyone dead or alive, who would it be?
I would spend the day with Frida Kahlo in her studio and discuss politics, women’s rights and art with one of my idols.
